THE Landmark clearing sale for Brad and Anna Sounness’, Quangellup property recently, not only saw the usual array of machinery and sundries offered but also a yarding of Merino ewes.
The sheep offering kicked off the sale and they sold to solid market values.
Kendenup producers Tim Saggers, TG Saggers, was a volume buyer purchasing two lines in the sale both at $120.
Mr Saggers bought a draft of 107 4.5-year-old ewes which had been running with Poll Dorset rams as well as a line of 161 3.5yo Merino ewes which had been running with Monte Verde Merino rams.
Mt Barker operation KW & GK Stothard also secured a line in the sale paying $120 for a line of 146 5.5yo Merino ewes which were mated to Poll Dorset rams.
The line of 201 1.5yo Merino ewes which had been joined to Monte Verde Merino rams made $115 when it was knocked down to Anthony Warham, Cranbrook.
The last line to sell was a draft of 161 Merino ewes lambs and these were snapped up by RK Drage, Mt Barker, at $106.
