WA producers – it’s time to get behind your sheep industry.
There is an opportunity to support the whole WA sheep supply chain to display the truth and stories behind our great industry, The Sheep Collective.
Our sheep industry has been searching for a single, united voice to share the importance of live sheep exports to government, regulators and the general public.
As an industry we have to continue to improve our world-leading animal welfare standards in livestock export and own changes that will allow the trade to continue to deliver the food security for our highly valued customers, to provide diverse options for WA producers to sell stock, most importantly on rainfall deficient seasons and also insuring we continue to have a strong industry that provides the financial support to our rural communities.
The WA sheep flock, with its amazing natural Merino fibre and its red meat protein, is complementary to providing sustainable mixed farming enterprises in our Mediterranean climate.
So I urge not only sheep and cattle producers, but all grain growers, transporters, rural businesses and the like to put your business name behind The Sheep Collective.
If you’re on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Instagram you can like and share the positive, factual messages from the many voices in The Sheep Collective.
The unity and strength of numbers will provide the support for this group that are working on behalf of our industry.
In the coming months it will be critical for our industry to continue work with regulators and government.
The Sheep Collective provides the avenue for our industry.
I strongly support and congratulate this group of individuals and organisations for taking up the fight on behalf of the WA sheep industry and I ask you to do the same.
#TheSheepCollective is our way forward – together.
