AGRIFAC national sales manager Mark Bastian this week announced that five of the new Agrifac Condor Endurance II self-propelled boomsprayers are being delivered to their Australian owners this month.
And all are WA farmers or contractors.
First revealed in early 2018, Endurance II is an upgraded version of Agrifac's successful Condor Endurance - which was specifically designed for Australian broadacre farming.
According to Mark Bastian, Agrifac has used on-board telemetry to follow the Endurance models throughout the world completing about 7.5 million hectares of spraying.
"We combined all that data with feedback from operators to make Endurance II even better," Mark said.
The new machine has already won a 'Red Dot' award in Europe, for outstanding design.
Upgrades include fitment of a 302 kilowatt (405 horsepower) Cummins engine replacing the Volvo 239kW (320hp) power plant.
"The new engine has improved fuel efficiency with a drive train that runs at lower rpms," he said.
The sprayer's fuel capacity has been increased from 390 to 700 litres, reflecting the launch of Agrifac's new AiC CameraPlus technology - which can identify and spot-spray individual weeds.
"This leads to vastly reduced chemical usage, meaning an Endurance II could be in the paddock for many more hours before its 8000L chemical tank needs re-filling," Mark said.
The Endurance II filling station is now at the front of the sprayer, so operators can simply straight-drive up to their chemical store and water source.
The high capacity centrifugal filling pump and mixing station can be lowered to a safe working height, then stowed under the cab during spraying.
Clean water capacity has been increased to 700 litres and the distinctive J-Boom has been slightly re-designed to improve its performance.
Boom widths are unchanged, at 24 metres to 55m.
Mark said Endurance II operators would also benefit from a new, fully integrated armrest and joystick design, plus Agrifac's next-generation EcoTronic Plus II touch-screen control system.
The single screen displays spraying and GPS details, sorting data to automatically present the most relevant information to the operator.
Mark said the success of Endurance II would be strengthened by the recent 2018 support agreement between Agrifac and HARDI Australia.
Under the new arrangement, Agrifac sprayers are supported by Hardi Australia's local infrastructure.
A further 12 Endurance II sprayers will be delivered directly from the Netherlands to their new Australian owners during the course of this year.
