CLAAS Harvest Centre (CHC) is adding to its product arsenal in Western Australia with the addition of AMAZONE boomsprayers.
The models are AMAZONE's latest trailed units and are designated the UX range with tank capacities ranging from 3600 litres to 12,000L with boom widths from 15 to 40 metres.
According to CLAAS Harvest Centre Katanning salesman Mel Parnell, the sprayers set new standards with a wide range of options to adapt to different spraying requirements.
The UX models can be adapted with multiple axle and drawbar variations and suspensions, hitches, boom options, ISOBUS options and trailed steering.
Designated the UX3200 (3600L capacity), UX4200 (4600L) and UX11200 (12,000L), the tanks are low-profile and encased in a steel profile frame.
All control elements are clearly identified and user-friendly and located centrally on the left side of the tank, which has no baffle plates for minimal residual quantities and smooth walls for ideal cleaning results.
The parallelogram-guided booms - Super S2 and Super L2 - with aerodynamic design, have three shock absorbers to ensure a smooth boom ride even under the most difficult conditions.
The Super-S2 boom is available in working widths between 15 and 28m while the Super-L2 boom is designed with 21-40m working widths.
According to AMAZONE, the Super S2 boom (working widths 15-28m) comes standard with a central pendulum suspension for optimal boom guidance on slopes and level ground, combined spring and damping elements for shock-absorbed suspension to damp down the vertical roll movements and integrated damping system to damp down the horizontal yaw movement.
The larger Super L2 booms (working widths 21-40m), comes with similar suspension and the multiple-folded steel profiles of up to 220 millimetres, provide integral strength.
AMAZONE has gone to great lengths to ensure boom integrity even down to specially-designed pivot joints while providing stainless steel hydraulic fittings.
All models are ISOBUS-compatible allowing control and regulation functions such as auto boom shut-off and section control; automatic switching off of suction hose filling; automatic agitator switch-off; residual quantity dilution; boom flushing; complete tank cleaning; agitator cleaning and boom cleaning.
Another feature is the AMAZONE DUS pressure recirculation system which guarantees safe circulation within the entire system.
When spraying starts, all hoses, including spraying lines, are filled under pressure in the reverse direction with a mixed spray agent.
Spray lines are always full and immediately ready to use.
At clean-out, fresh water flushes the spray lines and returns to the tank via the pressure re-circulation system.
For the flagship UX11200, three multi-cylinder-equipped piston diaphragm pumps provide, at the same time, a higher suction capacity for the injector via the 10 centimetre-diameter suction port.
The three pumps have a total output of 750 litres a minute and are also liquid fertiliser-proof.
As an alternative to PTO drive, the UX11200 can also be equipped with hydraulic pump drive where the pumps are driven independently from the tractor's engine.
An AutoTrail axle steering system, or track-following capability, allows steering to remain in automatic mode up to 20 kilometres an hour.
Above 20km/h, the centre position is automatically set and locked in road mode.
In ISOBUS mode, the system allows for slope correction and automatic slope counter-steering.
As an option, the AutoTrail steering system can also be equipped with a tilt sensor for fully automatic slope control, with both stub axle steering and drawbar steering.
AMAZONE also provides as standard, LED single nozzle illumination for optimum contrast to the spray pattern during night programs, allowing the operator to easily see spray pattern effectiveness.
