Farm Weekly was in Mack country last week at B & J Catalano, Brunswick. And it didn't take long to line up company directors Clem and Stephen Catalano (centre) flanked by their sons Brett (left) and Tom for a promotion shot for the annual Lights on the Hill vintage machinery field day, which was postponed on Monday. This year's theme centred around 100 years of Mack truck history in Australia and taking the spotlight was to have been the company's new Mack Superliner which will take pride of place in the Catalano's 60-strong fleet, of prime movers of which 25 are Mack trucks. The Mack truck in the foreground is a 1965 Mack B61, which was restored in 2004 by the Catalano brothers and now takes pride of place in the company 'museum' showing 1.6 million miles (2.7 kilometres) on the speedometer. It will be displayed when the Lights are back on, (to be advised) along with the Mack Superliner, which is a limited edition model 95 of 100 built by Mack Trucks Australia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mack trucks in Australia. 95 has special significance as it was in 1995 that company co-founder Joe Catalano died.
