The RSPCA WA is investigating reports of a small black dog being dumped on the side of the road in Northam on Friday afternoon.
In a statement, the animal welfare organisation said the incident was reported by a witness with inspectors following up.

The witness tried to find the dog which remains missing.
RSPCA WA said they were after information about a blue Hyundai Tucson in the area.
The group said it was likely that the incident was the result of financial hardship.
"COVID-19 is impacting everyone in different ways," RSPCA WA said in a statement.
"While we don't know if this case is directly related to COVID-19, we wanted to share this message with you, to let you know that it's okay to ask for help.
"If you are experiencing financial hardship and finding it difficult to care for your pets, please talk to your friends and family, or contact a local shelter, rescue group or the RSPCA."
