Researchers get objective about finding lamb's holy grail

DOCTOR OF MEASUREMENT: Pete McGilchrist from New England University says a number of new technologies are being investigated in the race to develop objective measurement of intramuscular fat (marbling) in lamb carcases.

Imaging needles used in human brain surgery and a camera which measures fat in tuna are among the latest batch of potential technologies for objectively measuring marbling in lamb.
