Mareeba combined agents penned a total of 907 head at Tuesday's prime and special store cattle sale. Numbers decreased by 940 head on the previous week. Two local processors were present along with two traders and a large gallery of local buyers.
Prices remained strong for good quality cattle. The yarding consisted of 241 steers averaging 309.6c/kg and selling to a top of 368.2c,
The 276 bulls sold averaged 249.2c for a top of 354.2c, 178 cows averaged 215.2c and sold to a top of 274.2c. The 106 heifers averaged 277.8c selling to a top of 330c, 49 yearling heifers averaged 307.2c selling to a top of 368.2c and 52 yearling steers averaged 344.3c selling to a top of 396.2c.
