Ensuring latest technologies are incorporated into its product range underpins Simol's reputation for manufacturing and supplying safe, efficient, reliable and easy-to-use agricultural and industrial equipment.

Continual investment in research and development has helped position the Italian-based company as Europe's leading designer and producer of specialised supporting wheels and jacks.

These are used by agricultural, construction, industrial and road maintenance sectors in more than 50 countries for trailers, caravans, utility and other vehicles.

Simol has been investing in improving ergonomics, practical usability, resistance to wearing and maximising the operating comfort of its products since the 1960s. Its core focus is developing and delivering innovative solutions that perform in the field.

Resistance to aggressive operating conditions, rapid deployment and minimum maintenance requirements have meant the company has been able to maintain a premium brand over many years.

All of its supporting wheels and jacks can be modified - in design and finish - in response to customer requirements.

Today Simol's products are the brand of choice among leading international manufacturers of agricultural machinery.

They appreciate the company's constant attention to highest quality and safety standards, ensured by using premium materials and integrated fall prevention systems in its suite of jacks.

Finding new solutions to make work safer, more comfortable and efficient is a key reason for Simol recently introducing a unique new suite of jacks.

This Simol-Q range meets compliance standards of the international ISO-12140 code, which applies to mechanically or hydraulically-operated telescopic jacks used for supporting and lifting agricultural equipment and machinery.

It specifies the functional, safety and reliability requirements; includes marking information; and establishes test procedures for certification of compliance.

Simol-Q jacks have to undergo extensive mechanical, longevity and functionality strength testing to comply with the ISO code and ensure optimum function, safety and reliability. To do this, Simol - in collaboration with the University of Bologna - designed and built a test rig that allows the company to try out the extreme performance of its jacks directly at its facilities.

The jacks are subjected to the strength tests established by the International Organization for Standardization.

Western Australian-based agricultural and mining supplies company, AgriParts & Repairs, is an importer of Simol jacks and components. It distributes these nationally to key players in farming, mining, manufacturing and commercial industries - and to those in select overseas markets.

Agriparts & Repairs also has a workshop to carry out specialist in-house repairs, with fast turnaround to minimise lost production time and ensure optimal use of machinery.

It has introduced efficient supply chain systems and is also known for rapid response, quality and value - whether supplying parts and components in container loads or for one-off sales.

The company recently added the innovative Simol-Q mechanical jacks to its product line and these are performing particularly well in Australian conditions.

They are ISO-12140-compliant and feature Simol's latest technological innovations, including the double-speed system and drop leg safety system - which are two international-patented solutions.

Already applying to the DG-W models - which are Simol's high-end line of choice by the leading OEMs of agricultural trailers, round balers and trailed machinery for multiple uses - the double-speed system is a special device for rapid gear change.

It leads to a 70 per cent drop in deployment time and a 10 per cent reduction in the force required to raise the load.

The drop leg safety system specifically features in the drop leg jack models.

This innovative device is completely integrated in the jack's third section, with the aim to avoid any inconvenience due to a traditional outer chain mechanism. This includes risks of entanglement, wear-and-tear, loss or theft.

During testing of Simol's jacks, the specific stresses that apply to using the devices are fully simulated to guarantee robustness and reliability of these products.
