Time is running out for agriculture businesses searching for workers to register for free with Australia's new specialist ag recruitment agency Crop.

Launched in April, Crop is already making the search for the right candidate for the right job a whole lot more effective for one of Australia's most buoyant industries.

As part of the launch campaign, listings on Crop will remain free until June 30.

The vision for the start-up was to provide a better way for employers and job seekers within Australia's thriving food and fibre businesses to connect.

Crop's founders say the idea for the business was sparked by a combination of factors - the ongoing struggle to find employees in the ag sector, their passion to drive the promotion of Australia's food and fibre industries, and wanting to provide both job seekers and employers in the industry with a platform that focuses on them.

The aim was also to create a platform that could provide education for anyone contemplating working in the industry, to showcase to them the opportunities available in agriculture across Australia.

The Crop website has been designed and built to ensure a seamless experience for job seekers and employers alike, offering a variety of recruitment services including job postings, resumé templates, industry resources and career tips.

Unlike other recruiters, the team at Crop understand the Australian ag sector because it's who they are and where they come from.

With the Government's Job Keeper payment scheme coming to an end, the launch of Crop is timely for the industry.

With an expected initial hike in job seekers as businesses adjust to the end of the wage subsidy scheme, Crop is now ready and available to help those people secure roles in the agricultural industry which continues to experience acute labour shortages.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many areas of the global economy, the Australian ag sector has largely gone against the grain and retained or grown its revenue through this period.

Better seasonal conditions and subsequent higher demand for farm inputs and livestock were saving graces during a time when other industries around the world were suffering.

But a major challenge for the Australian agricultural industry has continued to be finding enough workers, a situation made worse by ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Many parts of the industry are struggling, particularly with the loss of international workers that often fill the gaps in harvesting seasons.

While there are a range of advertising options for employers seeking workers, from an array of social media groups to online recruitment sites, there are none that specialise in solely promoting the food and fibre sector.

When employers advertiser with Crop their job positions are also promoted through different channels, leaving the leg work to Crop.

You can register as an employer or job seeker at croprecruitment.com.au. From June 30 2021 for employers, job listings will start at $180, with options for bundle discounts. Job seekers can register and utilise the platform free of charge.
