PROUD REPUTATION: CAPS Australia is one of Australia's leading providers of compressed air and power generation.

This is branded content for CAPS Australia.

FOR four decades and more the McIntyre family has adroitly steered CAPS Australia from a small operation to be the largest independent compressed air and power generation provider.

The journey began way back in Western Australia as a one-man operation and, nowadays, it can boast a nationwide network of nine branch locations with more than 200 employees.

But this growth didn't happen overnight.

Bob McIntyre retired from the active running of the business in 2011, but remains on the board of directors.

About 24 years ago Bob's son, Glenn McIntyre, joined his father and eventually took up the reins of leadership as the company's executive general manager.

He remains in the role.

Glenn's son, Rhys, also recently joined the business as national rental coordinator, extending the family's connection to a third generation.

In all respects, CAPS is a truly Australian family business, servicing all types of Australian and international markets.

Growing with flexibilty

Looking back over the 40-year journey, Glenn McIntyre believes being flexible and adapting to the changing needs of the marketplace has been key to the company's growth and its successful evolution over time.

CAPS supplies across numerous market segments including rural, mining, manufacturing and many others, according to Glen.

"Nothing ever stays the same in the market," he said.

"The technology is changing, our customers' requirements are changing and energy efficiency is critical.

"As an independent company, we have the advantage of being able to offer a broad range of brands and only quality machines that perform as they should year after year."

Building it in-house

Foresight has been an integral part of the running of CAPS Australia.

During its earliest days, CAPS also quickly developed in-house ISO-accredited engineering capabilities.

This important step gave the company the ability to design and build equipment that suited Australia's hot, dusty and harsh conditions.

Having the ability to offer bespoke customisations depending on the customer's requirements was well regarded.

With in-house engineers and manufacturing facilities based in Welshpool, WA, they have the skills and agility to provide world-class quality solutions, whether it is adding on additional features to machines, right through to designing whole air and power systems for major manufacturing, waste-water plants, medical, mining or anything else.

"Our engineering is fully ISO-accredited and also has in-house testing facilities to ensure compliance," Glenn said.

24/7 service

On the services side, the company has focussed extensively on growing its after-sale services capabilities.

These services included fully-trained technicians who are able to service all major brands of equipment Australia-wide and it can call on a vast range of spare parts across the network.

Rural range

The demands of a farm can be varied, whether is a portable diesel air compressor for blowing off headers, an electric compressor for the workshop or a back-up power generator to power the farm at any time.

CAPS only supplies premium products you can rely on with known brands such as AIRMAN, KOHLER, INGERSOLL-RAND and many more.

Rental range

Along with capital sales of equipment, CAPS also has a national network of rental machines, air treatment and gas generation ready to fill in the needs of our customers on a short-term or long-term basis.

"Our range of equipment is high-end quality and low-hour machines, which include servicing to ensure they will run efficiently and reliably every time," he said.

So, for any air or power generation requirements you might have, please do not hesitate to get in touch with CAPS Australia today.
