LIEBE Group staff are out and about in the region, supporting growers to understand and measure grain losses from the front and back of their harvesters.
Through a Grower Group Alliance (GGA) led GRDC-investment, the Liebe Group will measure the grain losses occurring in 30 crops across the Geraldton and Kwinana East port zones.
A further 75 assessments will be undertaken across the State to provide an indication of the extent of the problem and guide future investment.
There are acceptable losses and different thresholds for each grain crop, balancing grain loss and harvest efficiency such as speed and logistics.
Optimising this balance will ensure growers can minimise losses while maximising profit.
