NORTHAM Police officer-in-charge Ron Daniels said there had been a spike in the number of burglaries.
On January 5, there was a burglary at a car hire business in Yilgarn Avenue, Northam.
Two vehicles were stolen.
One was found a short time later, damaged down by the tracks of the railway line.
The other car was found to be used in numerous other burglaries out of town.
A young man has been arrested and charged in connection to this incident.
A car was stolen from a house in Burn Street on January 9.
The keys were left in the ignition, and the vehicle is yet to be recovered.
On January 6 there were two burglaries at separate houses a handbag was stolen from the first, and a handbag and small electrical items were taken from the second.
The following day another house was burgled and a handbag and a camera stolen.
A wallet and cash were taken from a house in Northam on January 8 .
Then, on January 9, three houses were burgled - electrical equipment and purse was taken as well as cash, electronic gear, and jewellery.
A man was charged on Saturday evening in relation to all of the burglaries.
He was taken to Perth and remains in custody.
The man is also being questioned relation to other burglaries that have occurred in the region.
Police have recovered most of the items from his premises, as well as a large number of goods which are yet to be reported as stolen.
The cash was not recovered.

Meanwhile, during the weekend windows at West Northam Primary School were smashed.
The incident occurred just half an hour after three young boys broke in to the Target store through the airconditioning ducts.
Nothing was stolen from the store, and police are reviewing CCTV in relation to the incident.
The break-in occurred on Sunday at 10.20pm and was reported to police about an hour later.
On Saturday evening a bottle of bourbon was stolen from the Northam Tavern.
The culprit distracted staff in order to take the bottle and hide it under his shirt.
Police are reviewing CCTV.
