THE Wheatbelt Flames this season welcome the Bendigo Bank, York, Gingin and Toodyay as sponsors.
Wheatbelt Netball Region president Leanne Hunt recently attended a presentation in York, accepting the sponsorship funds on behalf of the Flames.
Last November the Flames began trials in preparation for the upcoming West Australian Netball League season.
Once squads where chosen the Flames were underway with a rigorous pre-season campaign set by head coach Adele Simmons.
The club's pre-season camp on January 31 and February 1 was at Landsdale Farm School and Altone Park in Beechboro.
Team bonding, team building, rules discussion, mental skills workshop, boxing circuits and court sessions was the weekend's schedule.
In the lead up to the league side's first game of the season Stacey Mourish was voted club captain with a leadership group of Kim Klaver, Renee Cabassi, Lauren Miller and Ellie Smart.
Reserves captain is Renae Cabassi and the 18s and under captain is Jorgia Pisani with Bianca Van der Westhuizen the vice-captain.
Last Saturday the League side played Rangers at the Ray Owen Centre in Lesmurdie, with a terrific result, the Flames winning 54-39.
This Saturday marks the first home game the Flames welcome the West Coast Warriors to the Northam Recreation Centre.
The first game begins at 5pm for the 18s and under followed by the reserves at 6.35pm and the league at 8.10pm.
