FIREFIGHTERS have revealed they ran out of water while trying to put out a fierce blaze that killed a four-year-old girl and her babysitter yesterday.

The 16-year-old babysitter and child died after the flames engulfed the house in Carabooda, north of Perth, just minutes after an adult left the property.
The victims were alone in the Carabooda Road house when the fire took hold in a market garden area on the city's outskirts about 11.30am yesterday.
FESA spokesman Don Fazio said fire crews had not been able to control the blaze, which destroyed the weatherboard home.
"Firefighters were hampered due to a lack of water in the area, it's a semi-rural area," Mr Fazio said.
Police said today the victims were not sisters, as was initially reported. The mother of the four-year-old returned to her home 20 minutes after firefighters arrived.
