AGSPREAD Bulk Haulage driver Tony Musgrove, Bunbury, called into the Williams CBH sample hut to check his load of Latrobe barley before heading to the Perth Metro Grain Centre.
With a Malt 1 classification he was ready to report back to his Mt Barker client that the load ticked the box.
"There's a pretty positive mood throughout the district," he said.
"Crops are coming off better than expected and while there is a lot of variability because of the frosts, I'm hearing more good reports than bad."
With harvest starting to crank up, Tony's summation put oats at variable, canola excellent and barley variable.
"I think there may be a few disappointments ahead with wheat but guys will be happy with anything above average," he said.
