SAFE Avon Valley are asking for community assistance for a dog in need.
Kev, a 12 month old Kelpie cross, escaped his owner’s house two weeks ago and was hit by a car outside. The driver made no attempt to stop or offer assistance.
Kev fractured his pelvis in three places but luckily did not receive life-threatening injuries.
SAFE Avon Valley volunteer Freedom Bradbury said Kev is undergoing orthopaedic surgery and will require extensive supportive care to recover from such a catastrophic injury.
“His surgery is going to be expensive,” she said. “We are looking to raise extra funds to help cover his costs and any support we can get will be appreciated.
“We fully accept that it was not the fault of the driver, as Kev was the one who was on the road; however we are disheartened that they did not stop.”
