The Northam Farmers’ Market was busy on Saturday with families enjoying the atmosphere and getting some last minute presents for Mum.
Marketing manager Shari Spatcher said they were lucky the markets fell the weekend of Mother’s Day, to get some more foot traffic.
“We had a few more arts and crafts and handmade local stores, which is great,” she said. Shari said the markets are growing and she is receiving new enquiries from food stalls.
She added it is the perfect weather at the moment for the markets to prosper. “It is cold in the mornings, but it is so nice walking around,” she said.
Mark Schelfhout and his son busked all morning at the market.
Shari encouraged community groups to set up a stall and fundraise at the markets. “The more community groups involved the better,” she said.
The next market will be held on May 27 from 8.30 – 1pm.
