A Scitech space dome visited Avonvale last Wednesday, to teach students about science.
In the dome, Year one to three students learned about the transition from day to night.
Following this the students attended a workshop where they built a shelter– and made their own wild, windy day to test out its stability. Year four to six students learned about planets and explored the universe as astronomers.
They put their engineering skills to the test in the workshop, by building a robot rover and designing a way for it to land on the surface of another planet.
A Scitech spokesperson said the workshops were designed to reinforce the messages in the shows through student driven hands-on challenges and experiments.
Scitech delivers science lessons to 90 per cent of all Western Australian schools and visits more than 120 regional and remote towns annually.
