The Lions Club of Northam has recently donated equipment to the Northam Avon Hospice.
This year, the club donated a mobility lift chair which is used in the hospice and is also loaned out to patients. The chair helps patients get up and down from being seated.
Lions Club member El Rewell said the Northam group had donated to the hospice for about 12 years. She said they first raised funds toward the building of the palliative care unit.
“The Lions Club Of Northam are proud supporters of Avon Hospice, and again this year have continued their pledge to donate an item of much needed equipment, which enables clients to enhance a better quality of life and independence,” she said.
“Lions throughout each year raise funds for those less fortunate than themselves, and will continue to assist financially, culturally, socially and morally, and will continue to serve our community without personal financial reward.
