Bushfire advice has been issues for people living in the vicinity of Clackline-Toodyay Road and Chrimes Place in southern parks of Hoddys Well in the Shire of Toodyay.
DFES said there is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.
The fire was reported at 1pm on Friday February 9 and currently there has been 2 hectares burnt.
15 volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Brigade firefighters are on the scene.
DFES said residents need to be aware and keep up to date in the case the situation changes.
The fire started near the intersection of Chrimes Place and Clackline-Toodyay Road in Hoodys Well.
The bush fire is moving slowly in an easterly direction.
It is controlled but not contained.
Roads have not been closed.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed along Clakline-Toodyay Road and drive carefully due to smoke.
DFES said the cause of the fire is accidental.
