Homicide Squad detectives have travelled to Queensland as part of their ongoing investigation into the death of Dean Patrick White whose body was found in a camp area north of Quairading in April this year.
With the assistance of the Queensland Police Service Homicide Squad they arrested a 45 year old man in Woodford, Queensland on Friday 1 June 2018.
The man appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court later the same day, where a Western Australia Police Force application for extradition to Western Australia was granted.
Homicide Squad detectives escorted the man on a flight to Perth on Saturday 2 June 2018 where the man was taken to the Perth Watch House and appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday 3 June 2018, on the charge of ‘Interfering with Corpse to Hinder Inquiry’.
The investigation is ongoing.
Detectives and a Mobile Police Facility set up on Quairading-York Road on Wednesday 18 April, 2018 to continue their investigation into the disappearance of Dean Patrick White who was last known to be in the Quairading area on March 31 2017.
Mr White was a regular traveller who had been camping in March 2017 on the Murray River in Victoria.
He then drove back to WA to meet someone near Quairading, with the last reported contact of him on March 31.
Mr White was reported missing by family in August 2017 after failing to get in contact following his father's death.
Mr White lived and travelled in a white 1989 Toyota Landcruiser with a blue trailer, which was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Queensland later in June.
