THE sun broke through at the right time for Landmark auctioneer Tiny Holly.
After battling squalls nd showers throughout the AT & K Clarke sale at Brookton last week, he was able to knock down the NH T7050 FWA tractor for the day's top price of $69,000 in relative comfort.
The tractor, which had done 4850 hours, was one of the seven tractors offered, with a NH TM165 FWA (8981hrs) and a Case International 9670 4WD with duals (6083hrs) sharing second place at $34,000 each.
The other tractors were all Chamberlain models including a 4280 (5566hrs) with loader and duals and a 4080 with 3PL and FEL with quick-detach bucket, stick rake and hay forks both of which were picked up for $17,000.
A second Chamberlain 4280 (8456hrs) made $8000, while the final one, a Champion 306 with duals sold for $2500.
Although the NH CR960 header was passed-in after the bidding reached a healthy $120,000, a Chase MEE 18 tonne capacity chaser bin with seed/fertiliser divisions made $48,000.
Other higher-priced items included a Hardi 5030 Commander boomsprayer with a 30m (100ft) boom, which sold for $47,000, a Marshall 910T MultiSpread ($30,000) and a 12m (40ft) Morris 9000 bar with Morris 7180 air cart ($29,500).
A couple of Brereton field bins were on offer with the 45t model with hydraulic lift making $15,000 while a 35t model sold for $6000.
The augers included a 12m (40ft) Grain Commander ($5600), a 11.8m (39ft) Jetstream ($3200) and a 10m (33ft) Jetstream ($1400).
A couple of unusual items included an as-new twin Olympic dual axle horse float, which sold for $5600 and a lock-up service trailer with vice, air compressor, oxy welder and gen set which made $5000.
Not surprisingly, sheep and wool handling equipment was offered, including three hydraulic wool presses, a TPW Slimline 440v ($3000), a TPW with 240v hydraulic power pack ($2400) and a BHB manual pin model ($500).
A bale trolley sold for $600.
While a couple of old Ajax presses went for $240 and $200 respectively.
Three roll-top wool tables made $340, $300 and $220 respectively, while a fourth that could be fitted with scales made $90, a Harvestaire lamb marking cradle sold for $1900 and a sheep weighing cradle made $1000.
Three point linkage equipment included a post hole digger ($360), ripper/pipe layer ($360), fire break boomsprayer ($300) and Silvan spreader ($260).
A Ford D Series 4 x 2 tipper made $4800 and the grain sides another $1300, while a 2005 Holden Rodeo dual cab (255,000km) made $2400.
A selection of trailers was well received, with a fencing trailer with all the gear, including a compressor, making $1800, while a couple of old Computorspray trailers and tanks set up as fire fighters went for $500 and $400 respectively.
Some old-style machinery was also in the line, including an International 2-11 29 tine scarifier ($1700), a 24 tine MF 56 combine with harrows ($500).
And a 24 tine Chamberlain combine with finger harrows ($400).
