CHEMICAL safety training body AusChem WA will merge with peak agricultural health and safety group Farmsafe WA Alliance.

The two bodies are seeking to reduce administrative costs while continuing to offer chemical safety training and advocacy for health and safety in the agricultural industry.
AusChem WA chairman Ian Longson said is felt there was significant value in the merger.
"We are two very similar organisations operating from the same location," he said.
"This appeared a natural progression to reduce administration while continuing to deliver a vitally important service to the farming industry and associated service industries using agriculture and veterinary chemicals.
"The merger is an efficiency to ensure that industry funds are well spent."
Two former AusChem WA committee members, Jessica McCartney from CBH and John Noonan from Curtin University, have joined the Farmsafe WA Alliance board.
Farmsafe WA Alliance chairman Mike Norton is overseeing the merger.
Bookings for chemical courses and administration will continue through the AusChem WA website.
Mr Norton said the group was also working closely with registered training organisations to provide shorter courses on chemical safety.
"If someone accidentally gets it wrong the impact of using chemicals in an incorrect application can be devastating," Mr Norton said.
