THE Future of Food was the topic of the evening at the latest Babble On event held at the New Norcia Hotel, recently.
As attendees tucked into a hearty steak or salmon fillet, Katanning farmer Lara Ladyman spoke on her recent Nuffield Scholarship tour overseas where she was exposed to a world of meat look alike substitutes, laboratory produced foods, drone deliveries of food and concept restaurants where the food is ordered, produced, served and payment collected by robots, all adding to a new narrative around food production.
Her address certainly provided food for thought for those in attendance, mostly farmers from local and surrounding districts and satisfied the Babble On intent of a social get together with a learning element.
