Meckering Primary School students showcased two years worth of art works at the schools second art exhibition on Tuesday, November 14.
Portraits, clay works, sculptures and abstracts were all on display at the afternoon exhibition with parents of the 25 students in attendance.
Art and education academic Dr Beryl Chalk was a special quest at the exhibition presenting a book she had written to the school.
Dr Chalk contacted the school to include stories of their art program in a text book to be used at university for those learning to become teachers.
The except about Meckering Primary School includes photos of the students and some of their art.
Each week students in Year 1 to Year 6 participate in an hour long art lesson.
Despite not having an art room, teachers and students complete the work in their classrooms and the wet area.
The works of art on display were chosen by the students who made them.
Those in attendance were encouraged to vote for the best piece of art with the winning student to recieve a prize package of art supplies.
Principal Janet Whisson said she was proud of the standard of work on show and sees the value in investing time in the arts.
