BUSINESS is booming for the Kader Boot Co.
The WA owned and uniquely designed boots have taken off with demand for them stretching right across the country.
Ms Lauder, who regularly travels to WA to sell her boots at festivals and shopping malls, as well as agricultural field days, had been invited to take her display to the international polo tournament next month when Australia play England on April 6 at Richmond, New South Wales.
She said she was soon to hit the road starting in Queensland, visiting NSW, then heading to Victoria and South Australia before returning.
Ms Lauder said the range of boots on offer was slowly being added to with styles suiting men, women and children, as well as bandanas and locally inspired accessories like Pilbara socks.
In February she announced the Kookaburra design – a women’s boot featuring Kookaburra feathers embroidered up the shaft.
Along with the Southern Cross boot, its signature boot, the Kookaburra is one of the best sellers.
Ms Lauder said a new design called the Paraburdoo – which is a white women’s boot, featuring white Cockatoo feathers would be available in April when the next shipment of boots arrived.
She said the Paraburdoo was originally designed as a show boot for horse riders.
On the Kader Boot Co Facebook page the boots are modelled by country singer and ambassador Eliza Spalding – highlighting its star quality.
Ms Lauder said she needed to be 12 months ahead with her designs because the boots were handmade (in Mexico) and took a long time to produce.
She was at the Make Smoking History Wagin Woolorama last week with the range of boots on display, as well as cattle skins and other accessories.
“We like to support local events,” she said.
“It’s great to be here and interact with people and hear their thoughts about our product.”
Ms Lauder said her best customers were women because they would pick out what they wanted and try the boots on and they were sold.
She said men took longer to make up their minds because they might still have a pair of boots at home.
Ms Lauder said the round-toed boots were the most popular.
