The family of a man who disappeared from his house in Toodyay over the weekend has appealed for his return.
James Winston Harrison was last seen leaving his Toodyay home on Sunday, March 17 and has not been seen or heard from since.
His father Stan Harrison said the family believes James went for a walk for some alone time.
"James, your whole family, your friends, they miss you like we do," he said.
"We hope that you have just gone to be alone and that you will return because there is so much love waiting for you here.
"James, we await your return with patience and so much love for our big, strong, gentle, kind son, brother and father."
Mr Harrison said the family was alerted of James' disappearance after he missed making a nightly phone call to his four-year-old son.
"He went very, very suddenly," Mr Harrison said.
"Nobody knew he was gone.
"It wasn't until later when he normally phones his son, it's a ritual every night for him to call him and make him laugh and talk about what they will do the next day - it was then that we started to have concern."
The 37-year-old fly-in-fly-out worker was due to return to work yesterday.
Toodyay Police officer in charge Sergeant Dave Flaherty said the search for James has been difficult because of a lack of clarity on where he went.
"Sadly there has been no indication of direction or area of where James could have gone," Sergeant Flaherty said.
"At this stage we are simply establishing where he could have gone.
"We've utilised as many resources as we can including the SES, the WA police mounted unit, police units on the ground, vehicle searches and we had the air wing out.
"We are out there overturning every rock and every leaf."
Sergeant Flaherty said there is no indication or reason that James would have left the Toodyay area.
The search area consists of a 5km radius of James' Toodyay home and a stretch of the Avon River up to Cobblers Pool.
Sergeant Flaherty said police are extremely concerned for James' welfare.
"There have been no phone calls," he said.
"There has been no contact with family or friends in any shape or form.
"There's been no sign of him.
"We are concerned for him and are going to great lengths to find him.
"We will continue to do so."
James is described as fair skinned, slim build, approximately 187cm tall with short brown hair.
He was last seen wearing red and black shorts, a singlet and grey and white sneakers.
Anyone who sees James is asked to call police immediately on 131 444.
