Over the March long weekend Northam Swimming Club attended its 61st consecutive Country Pennants which this year was held in Karratha.
A team of 25 swimmers plus coaches and parents made the long overnight haul up to Karratha to take part in country swimming's annual flag ship event.
Northam has supported this event every year since hosting the inaugural pennants in 1959.
There were many highlights from the two days of swimming and every swimmer smashed their personal best and gave it their all.
Tyrone Crees broke three records, two of which had stood since 1997; the Men's Open 100m Freestyle B Grade, Men's 17 & Over 50m Backstroke B Grade and Men's 17 & Over 50m Butterfly B Grade.
Chadd Hunt returned to compete at Karratha after having first competed there 30 years prior.
The strong results from the team resulted in a 4th place in B Grade, an outcome the club is very proud of.
The club would like to congratulate all its swimmers and support crew for their amazing effort towards a weekend that was both successful and enjoyable.
The Country Pennants weekend in Karratha would not have been possible without all the efforts and assistance by the many parents, committee and volunteers who assisted.
It's now full steam ahead towards Country Pennants in Geraldton in 2020.
As the season slowly winds down the Northam Swimming Club would like to thank all their local sponsors including Lloyds Earthmoving and Garden Supplies, Northam Race Club, Ballantyne Showcase Jewellers, Quinn Gourmet Butchers, In Balance Fitness, Avon Valley Nissan, Mayberry Hammond, Northam Dental Surgery, Dunnings, Mia Davey MLP, Valley Ford, Darren West MLP and the Liberal Party for all the support you have provided to the club.
With this generous support the Northam Swimming Club was successful in sending a full team of swimmers to compete at Country Pennants Swimming Karratha.
