Last Saturday's fixture at the Northam Country Club was the monthly mug trophy, a stroke event sponsored by Northam Tyrepower.
The field of golfers on the day could be compared to tyres, some sleek and sporty, some suitable for the rough, but mostly bald and over-inflated.
One golfer who has been playing good consistent golf recently is Matt Woods.
Woods has scored four eagles in the last three weeks and it was only time before his consistency would be rewarded with a win.
Woods started the round strongly on the first nine holes, with an eagle on the second hole followed by two birdies and three pars, finishing the halfway mark with a score of 34 off-the-stick.
Woods' second nine consolidated his lead and at the end of the day with a score of 74 off-the-stick, a nett 65, he won the trophy.
Max Hubble's form has also been consistent in the last few weeks, winning scroungers two weeks on a row.
Hubble's form continued on Saturday with a very credible 87 nett 66 to take the runners-up trophy.
