The Northam Pistol Club has welcomed its first life member last weekend, recognising the contribution made by local Alf Brown.
Sunday, July 28 saw the zone shoot held at the Northam Pistol Club.
Members from the zone travelled throughout the Wheatbelt for a day of competition and fun shoots.
The day finished with a BBQ lunch and presentation of trophies for the day.
At the end of the presentations, local Alf Brown was called forward.
Alf was presented with Life Membership of the Northam Pistol Club with a Certificate of Recognition and a Life Members badge.
Alf has held every position on committee of the Northam Pistol club including captain, treasurer, secretary, but the recognition is mainly for Alf being president of the club for 32 years running.
This is a huge commitment and dedication to volunteering.
Alf has completed locally, at zone, state and national levels over the years travelling state-wide to compete.
He won C and D-grade perpetual trophies at state level against over 160 shooters.
He was 28th overall for national level between all the matches.
Still semi-active within the club at 83 years of age, Alf enjoys standard pistol, air pistol, rapid fire, centre fire and free pistol competitions and the social contact of being active.
Huge congratulations on this wonderful recognition.
