Mareeba combined agents penned a total of 313 head at last week's prime and special store cattle sale, a decrease of 233 on the previous week.
One local processor, one export processor were present along with three traders, a small gallery of local spectators and a few local buyers. The market softened slightly on the previous week.
The yarding consisted of 137 steers averaging 389.7c selling to a top of 456.2c, 17 bulls averaging 371.2c selling to a top of 500c (new mickey record), 36 cows averaging 238.4c selling to a top of 262.2c, 50 heifers averaging 339.7c selling to a top of 391.2c, 17 yearling heifers averaging 370.8c selling to a top of 380c and 55 yearling steers averaging 441.4c selling to a top of 456.2c.
