Like many Australian producers, at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health we are family owned.
As such we have the advantage of being able to think in generations.
Operating for more than 135 years, today our innovation has reached more than 150 markets around the world - improving the on-farm health and wellbeing of animals and the people who care for them.
At Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health we understand the changing needs and expectations of our communities when it comes to animal health and wellness. We are proud to support the industry in pioneering and promoting practices that minimise stress and pain associated with routine husbandry procedures.
This year we are incredibly proud to sponsor the Lambition Industry Innovation Award, which highlights the game-changers in our rural and regional communities who are taking our industry to the next level.
At Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health we are entrepreneurs at heart.
We are responsible for pioneering major advancements in vaccines and parasiticides and delivering important therapeutic products designed to manage infection and chronic disease, minimise pain and slow disease progression.
Today our brands are some of the best and most trusted among veterinarians and animal lovers. Working directly with Australian producers we understand the everyday challenges faced on-farm. For example, we know that staying one step ahead of parasites is vitally important.
Whether it's allowing ewes to lamb in good body condition onto low parasite burden pastures, or weaners to take advantage of high-quality feed to grow rapidly, a solid parasite management plan is key.
Our heritage in parasite control innovation goes back more than 30 years with the development of IVOMEC.
More recently, directly responding to the sheep industry's need for triple combination drenches to address parasite resistance, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health delivered innovation via the unique chemistry of TRIGUARD. And when producers called for new approaches to sustained parasite control designed to protect vulnerable classes of sheep such as lambing ewes, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health developed a unique capsule technology combining the power of two active ingredients to deliver sustained parasite control.
This technology is found in DYNAMAX.
In addition to developing solutions designed to address the current needs of Australian producers, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health actively seeks to find solutions to tomorrow's challenges.
A great example is our recent innovations in lice control. Understanding that historically sheep lice have developed resistance to single action family lousicides, the company developed and launched a new product that combines the power of two active ingredients with separate modes of action.
Responding to expert opinion that confirms dual action activity prolongs the life span of our valuable active ingredients, our goal was to launch this technology before either active ingredient is lost to resistance.
Boehringer Ingelheim brought this innovation to market with the product FENNEC.
We understand there are many new challenges facing sheep producers, from better understanding nutritional requirements, to improved lamb management and farm husbandry practices.
We are proud to support the industry in pioneering and promoting practices that minimise stress and pain associated with routine husbandry procedures.
Our innovation journey is far from over.
