IT was third time lucky for Nuffield scholars last week with the 2021 Nuffield WA annual sponsors luncheon finally able to be held at Mandoon Estate, Caversham. The event had been organised twice previously but had to be postponed at the last minute each time due to COVID-19 concerns.
Some 60 Nuffield scholars attended the luncheon - most of them recognised as innovators in agriculture and as farmers of influence through their involvement with industry or commercial organisations - and going back to 1966 with retired Zimbabwe and local farmer Stanley Schur.
Current year Nuffield scholars Kathryn Fleay, York, Rob Bell, Boyanup and Fritz Bolten, Kununurra, gave a brief overview of their areas of interest and hopes for study once international travel is possible again.
